Computer Lab

(The Computer Lab contains enough stations that everyone has their own workspace.)

  • Pre-K and Kindergarten – Once per week for 30 minutes.
  • 1st Grade – Once pre week for 45 minutes.
  • 2nd Grade – 6th Grade – Once per week for 1 hour, and class project research as needed.

Computer classes are planned in conjunction with the teacher’s lesson plans.  Pre-K and Kindergarten classes last 30 minutes and they attend once weekly.  KidPix is the program used with these students and numbers, letters, counting and other skills are reinforced in the classroom.  Students are taught the basics of computer.  First grade attends 45 minute classes weekly.  They use a combination of KidPix and Microsoft Office.  Students begin learning the basics of typing such as the shift key, enter key and spacing, as well as become familiar with the keyboard.  Second through sixth grades come to the computer lab for 1 hour per week.  Along with keyboarding, they also do 4 projects each year-one each in Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel.  Skills progress with each grade level.
