KidPix is the program used with these students and numbers, letters, counting and other skills are reinforced in the classroom. Students are taught the basics of computer. First grade attends 1 hour classes weekly. They use a combination of KidPix and Microsoft Office. Students begin learning the basics of typing such as the shift key, enter key and spacing, as well as become familiar with the keyboard. Second through sixth grades come to the computer lab for 1 hour per week. Along with keyboarding, they also do 4 projects each year-one each in Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel. Skills progress with each grade level.
