Music and Chorus
The Holy Cross Music Program begins in Pre-K and continues through 6th grade. Each class has music classes every week with instructor Ms. Beth Harris. Music classes include learning songs, music theory, and orchestral instruments. Students explore rhythm, melody, harmony, form, style, and timbre through developmentally appropriate activities such as singing, playing classroom musical instruments, games, folk dancing, and creative movement. Our students are exposed to notable composers and their works. Every class has a musical performance each year which is performed for the student body and families.
The Holy Cross Show Choir is comprised of the 5th and 6th grade students. The Holy Cross Show Choir performs several times each year around the Montgomery Community, including performances at local nursing homes and the Montgomery Junior League Holiday Market. These performances enhance the students’ knowledge of costuming, comic timing, and choreography.
