Computer classes are planned in conjunction with the teacher’s lesson plans. Our curriculum introduces computer literacy and competency, teaching students how to operate in an increasingly digital world. Students learn to use both iOS on Apple iPad tablets and Microsoft Windows on Dell Latitude laptops. Skills such as typing, drawing, and web navigation lay the foundation for digital literacy. Students use the full suite of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) to develop productivity skills such as writing, drawing, data collection, and presentation. Safety and security are important aspects of our computer classes, and our students are taught how to navigate the web to gather and present data in a responsible and respectful way. Our computer curriculum also introduces apps and programs that reinforce classroom subjects, such as reading and math, which help to make learning enjoyable.
